Dave,

I looked in detail at the map today at TT, and the bypasses are very clearly marked. I'm pretty certain you'll have no difficulty with the URAL.

Timmer, we really should coordinate our trips to TT. We could have luncheoned at Smarty Pants again.

Tim,

I didn't know you were needing or planning to go there. Just PM me whenever you want to head down and we can do lunch. I'm now retired so scheduling is pretty easy.

Just messin' with ya', Timmer. But you didn't have to go rubbin' it in about being retired.

Back on topic, sort of, some pals and I are going to have a DVD viewing party, (WABDR and Hard Miles 2), in a few weeks that will also be a planning session for our WABDR trip - sounds like we will be about a week behind your ride - starting in Greenwater on August 5th and riding the Naches, etc. to E'burg to pick up the established route from there to Conconully before turning back towards Winthrop and home. I've only got 4 days to devote to the trip and that has to include getting to the start and home from the finish. I'll have to retire too someday and see what that's like.

I recall seeing your FB post about getting together with someone after you bought the KLX.

My group may do a planning session with the DVD once we get the video in our hands.

map is excellent & like other have said even better then i imagined.
it has gas stop info, mileage and elevation charts.
yes you want to have the map on your gps, but you also want to have this map in your tank bag...it's really that good.

i'm excited as i'm about to watch the dvd!

Supposed to arrive today!

I sent 'em an email with my receipt yesterday. I got a reply within MINUTES! Wow! It's on its way, should be here today.

The weather is supposed to be in the low 40's and partly sunny. so I get to 1) go for a ride on the Dakar, 2) get the DVD and watch it for the first time, and 3) attend the local Beemer club meeting at Westside Motorsports! Should be a great day!

If anyone is interested, I've taken the GPS tracks and converted them into via-point routes for use with GPSes that can't display tracks and have a 200 via-point limitation. (i.e.: Garmin Nuvi 500/550)

Mind you the resolution is much reduced with 200 via-points per leg vrs 500 points in the original track but it should get you to where you need to be. I accept no responsiblity if you get lost using these routes!
