started off wanting to be rid of the plasticky rear section and re-do it so i could carry more shit; i like my bikes to be more like a pickup truck than a sports car. so i did that, eyeballing all the cuts as you could probably tell, then the last add was the pannier supports. midway thru the project i realized that while the shit i put together always works pretty well i'm missing the ability to make anything look pretty. i'm ok with that. the rear section does indeed work great. i toted +100lbs. all around the west this summer with no cracks or fails. feels good too, with the weight much lower and farther forward than i'm used to carrying.

What? No pics of bikes from eastern Europe (pre-Berlin wall days)? Some of the CZ, NSU and MZ bikes from the 60's and 70's are THE most hideous examples of two-wheeled conveyances. Makes ya shudder.
