Long Vespa Trip

While riding my dual sport bike in the Moab area I ran into this fellow "Ella" a couple days ago at Arches National Park. He's from Italy and has a Canadian registered Vespa 150 Sprint. Our conversation was brief because I don't speak Italian and he speaks little English. He started in New York, rode to Alaska, and is headed to Argentina. I looked at his web site but I don't read Italian. http://www.vespanda.com/index.html

Given BMW's reputation as of late I'd say they're not the bike you want on a long trip. People including myself have been taking long trips on Vespas since the early 50s.
