Those old school pics sure bring back some memories for me. How many of you actually attended a one room school. I started out in one in the late '50's in a small sawmill town near Chapleau. Yup, eight grades in one room, outdoor outhouse, and an oil space heater. I remember having to stand in the corner on my first day of grade 1, I must have been a bad dude. I only wish I had some pics of it to post here.

We have found a few the last couple of days, Found #3 and #4 still looking for 1 and 2.
Funny part is neither school was uphill both ways? ![]() Both are homes today so we didn't want to invade privacy too much so the pics are limited. ![]()

I did in the mid 80's, Rick
Granted the one room was the size of a warehouse. It was an "open area" concept, with the "classrooms" formed by dividers. No idea what the thinking was behind that ![]() Here's a real one-room schoolhouse though. Chicken Hill in Saskatchewan

Mike,
Funny, we were coming from the South by way of back roads, so I didn't realize how close we actually were until later. Turns out we rode right past you. . |

Ferd, I may not have a keg on tap in my garage like the Coolhouse, but the beer is always cold and you're always welcome! Drop in anytime...
