I know Mike.
By the time we realized where we were we were short on time - I had a meeting to get to. Next time. . |

On one of the best roads in Eastern Ontario, the 511, is found this pretty little school. It's in Hopetown.

Found five more schools today:
Schipaville - The "Bike Guy" lives here. Bishop's Mills - The owner came out of the house across the street and told us all about this place; built in 1860, it was probably no longer used as a school after about 1900. Patterson's Corners Oxford Mills Acton's Corners (This one's for sale)

Wow, stunning photo, how very, well, prairie like. Coincedentally, I'm reading Elizabeth Hay's new book 'Alone in the Classroom' which is partly set in a schoolhouse in Saskatchewan, so I'll picture this one as the setting. Thanks for posting!

I didn't know all the 'rules' before I snapped this one, so there is no bike or history, but it's a cool old school house just the same. The pic was taken on Day 2 of the BCBTR, so it's got to be somewhere between 100 Mile House and Merritt, BC!
This summer I'm riding the DR back to the Kootenay's where I'll get 'official' pics of the old school house that I actually went to! (and no, I'm not *that* old! )
