I sent them my old seat and they built a new one for me. They used the old seat pan. Just inform them of your desired height, what you weigh and any other info and they take care of the rest. It's a great seat for a great price.

Seat
I've had one of these seats on my 07 DRZ400S and I think it's the best money i've ever spent on a bike. I just picked up an 08 KLR650 and it will be my first upgrade that I purchase. Great seat at a really good price.

How about the thickness where you sit? Looks like the 1000 may be a little thicker? On the KLR seat its 20 bucks to install, so it would be 159.95 plus 20.00 and email first and let me know you are an ADV guy and I'll give you free shipping on my end! Bundy

Is the group buy offer for any seat? If a KTM 950 Super Enduro qualifies I'm in.

Strom Seat Feedback
Quote:
I think on the whole the OEM seat did a pretty good job shaving the seat at the front-end to allow the rider to touch the ground without having the edges of the seat poking the inner thigh. Similarly I have never found the stock width to be a problem and I am about 215 with a desk-job posterior. Aside from the fact that the foam is too mushy, the biggest thing for me would be to push back the ridge where the seat transitions up for the pillion as far as possible to increase the amount of room I have to adjust my seating position during long rides. A seat that is a little taller than stock would be nice as well. The bike is tall, but the distance from the seat to the pegs is too close, and my legs are only about 33." I doubt it is posible, but figuring a way too allow a little more distance from the pegs to the seat without compromising the riders ability to touch the ground would be awesome. I never ride the bike two-up so honestly I do not care about the pillion area. A flat seat would work for me. A smidge taller would be a plus but not a necessity. The OEM shape is not horrible, the foam is. Suzuki makes like 4-5 models of the seat. The DL650 and DL1000 seats are the same except or height. If you build a recover option it will be available to all of us. By far the Wee is the bigger part of the market, but there are a few of use with the big bike as well. The seats are interchangeable. The Wee seat is a little less than half-an-inch shorter. In addition Suzuki makes a gel seat, as well as high and low version of the stock seat. I think the low-seat is simply the Wee seat, but the high seat is a bit taller than the Vee seat. All of the seats are the same shape. If you have other questions let me know. The Vee is my car I can take any measurement you need or answer questions to move things forward. |
