For some reason, I can't wait to get back out there. Maybe next summer . . . . .

Mikegc- stunning pics - you must be much more patient than I. Crazy good lighting in some of those.

Thanks for sharing everyone --

Now for some rootbeer and fry sauce
And I of the red soil and megaliths I will admit though after three days of riding through lush green gouges with steams running along side I thought I couldn't take any more (sort of like a green tree and water high) though in truth I really just wanted to hop on my bike every morning and ride till dinner (but alas home eventually called)

Well, now that you tell me it's a flag, I can see that it plainly is. Funny how the mind gets stuck on what it thinks something looks like.

Today-
Trappers Loop/East Canyon/Guardsman Pass

Pineview Res- Must be getting cold, not one person on the water this morning

The old train station in Morgan Utah- was at one point a fairly important waypoint for the transcontinental RR

East canyon- back on the Pony Express

Near the top

The 3 passes were spectacular today

Over Guardsmans Pass-

New pavement on the park city side

Lots of snow from last week (or so) toward Brighton. SOme of the dirt was pretty rutted/washboarded in sections- but little dust

Paraglider up over the Park City side (bet the view was spectacular)

SOme of the colors through the day were clearly a bit past their peak, but not this grove

Brighton area-

Great day for chasing canyons

Great pics as always Signal!

I was I was up on the Brighton side of the pass yesterday. I was going to go up and over to Midway, but there are sections of the road, mainly in the shadows , covered in a couple inches of ice. Not snow, ice. Ice and I have not gotten along in the past, so I went back down big cotton wood canyon.

BEautiful up there
Actually saw/encountered a few ice patches from freeze/melt on the brighton side today on the pavement (north side shadows)- most were in the other (uphill) lane, but the first one really took me by surprise. Looked like standing water until I got close.
Some long shadows in the pines, I imagine that ice is there for the duration at this point.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. Time to head out to the west desert I guess.

Summer did go very quickly. Funny, but even with the snow up high, I never really considered there may be ICE on the road (dumb). Thought process changed fast.

true enough- may be the time for a big lap around the giant salty drainage pond (though would be a dawn to dusk thing now with the short days)
