Played fast forward for a few minutes today- ran out to Antelope Island
Cold, in the low 40's

The female buffalo cows are penned up for the winter- upper right fences

the males were all on the "grassy" south end- One was kinda grumpy, to the others, I might as well been a fly

Got within about 30 years on the road- didn't push it any further

Todays tunes- cheap trick live at budokan (still have it on a plastic record)

"Surrender.......

..but don't give yourself awaaaaaaaaaaay!"

These things are big! Saw a stuffed one in Custer Park and the size of it just blew me away, saw some in the pasture there too but far away from me.
Bisson stew is one of my favorite dishes.

Awesome pictures and showing that it isn't the camera, it's the person taking the pictures. ;-) Okay, Question. When was going though Utah in '07 on my way to California on my then DL1000 , I quickly took this picture of an interesting formation off I 70. But no signs saying who, where, what about it. Do you reconize it and know of it.

It is the northern part of the Upheave/Swell- a really big shift in the crust layers- It runs about 100 miles long (but is most striking from this point down). It forms the eastern side of Capitol Reef Ntl Mon.and goblin valley to the south and is responsible for most of the rock formations in the area. THe Burr Trail to the east of cap reef runs down in the wash along the fold.

Thanks for the info. It aways amazed me when I go back and look at the pics from this trip. I really need to get back there and explore that area. I was in a bit of a rush to meet an appointment at Corbin in Hollister that trip and came back further south on the return leg.

Shot north to south of the same area, just east of where your shot was taken- about as far as you can see down along this line of rock is where Goblin Valley would start

the same upheave on the right on the burr trail- again, looking north to south
