Day 3 continued:
Stopped in Tropic for fuel and a lunch-like snack that consisted of lemonade, a banana, and an excellent apple turnover (like 3" thick and flaky form a local bakery ). There was a gaggle of big dual sports mostly GS's, doing the same, Mejican plates, traveling together. We said hello but they weren't much for talking...They were also headed for Bryce. As they let caught a view of some ADV decals but never got a screen name...We caught them at the entrance ![]() ![]() We headed up to sunrise point area ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My favorite- ![]() Spent a couple hrs- then headed north....

Great north/south route but the posted speed limit is slow ![]() ![]() Had to swerve around a couple antelope through here The long straight road ![]() Until you reach Black Canyon rd ![]() ![]() The old grainery ![]() Near Koosherm ![]() ![]() Otter Creek Res ![]() AN old Schoolhouse ![]() ![]() Koosherm Res ![]() Down from Fishlake on Hwy 24, an alien cloud appears ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dropping into the Sevier valley/Richfield- ![]() ![]() Stayed at the Quality Inn in Richfield- not bad. Headed home the next morning through Mona, along the west side of Utah lake... About 1100 miles over 4 days, she held up nicely ![]() Thanks all for the views/thoughts/PMs

I rode my GS around the Grand Canyon once in late November (to clebrate my birthday) and had even the South Rim to myself. There were some slick spots on the asphalt in shadow areas, but I just took it easy and watched for it. There were elk all around, eagles, hawks, and ZERO tourists! I say go for it! Doug

Bryce can be a little more difficult later, it is 4000 ft higher than Moab.

Taken from the top of the Moki Dugway (January though, returning from San Diego; in the truck ). You can see the road I just came across thru Valley of the Gods, running across the pic, just below center; not the paved one on the right.![]() I thought I'd make a couple of loops before heading home, or not. ![]() ![]() ![]()

We live at 7000' - this time of year and later, a couple thousand feet makes a bunch of difference - didn't realize Bryce was that high! Did the White Rim last January - icy on the north slopes - the desert is great in winter Thanks for the info Rick |

First photo, good stuff-- went over the "hogs back" 2 weeks ago fot the first time with my wife on the back, she loved it.
Second shot- You've stumped the band -- I'm guessing outside of escalante somewhere, but I have no memory of any standing water in the area

![]() ![]() Also, make reservation at Hell's Backbone Grill as it's on the property. They've got a good beer & wine list and the jalapeno soup is great. You're welcome! Mike |

We were both off work this AM, she wanted to go see the red leaves
![]() She manned the Cannon ![]() I manned the bike The row of trees leading from the monastery in Huntsville ![]() Over the shoulder ![]() ![]() More red than even a few days ago. The leaves are falling fast ![]() More yellow up on the top ![]() ![]() ![]() The aspens were excellent ![]() ![]() Up near the summit, about 9600 ft ![]() ![]() ![]() Much easier for her to mount/dismount without the side cases- ![]() ![]() Nice. I've been in the area a long time, the colors may be the best I've seen.
