As promised, yesterday's jaunt over Ant Flat road--

Edges have recently been graded, passed a couple water trucks hosing it down....likely all a result of a new huge pipeline all teh way from WY crossing the road

[IMG][/IMG]
Pavement to hard dirt/gravel, and some mud (slick on the hard pack ) thanks to the water trucks

[IMG][/IMG]
Deep edges

[IMG][/IMG]
Up a bit higher

[IMG][/IMG]
Some California deer peeking at me

[IMG][/IMG]
Cresting the rolling summit

[IMG][/IMG]
Aspen groves still bright yellow

[IMG][/IMG]
A few locals hopped to it as I approached the Hwy 39 Junction

Great photos, Will be going out there in March, a few days in salt lake, then rent a car and go site-seeing.

Might be a problem, though not if you visit Logan in Feb.

I think i will be doing the whole "Salt lake and south" due to the timing of the trip.

Just for kicks-- had a BIG winter in '07/08.......to let you in on what Utah can be (and is) in the winter

[IMG][/IMG]
front yard on a sunny day (yeah ) after a long series of storms dropping 12-18 inches at a time. the sides of the driveway are flat grass even with the driveway. no more room to to pile it up. My son was likely around 4'6" at the time

[IMG][/IMG]
A standard height patio chair, had about 38 inches built up (north end of the yard)

[IMG][/IMG]
Time to lighten up the roof's load- we had over 40 inches built up on the north side. Was a LOT of work

[IMG][/IMG]
Last one-- on an up note, this was a pumpkin I'd carved a year ago-- a local blues duo "the ledgendary porch pounders" -- these guys are the real deal

Nice thread! Isn't it nice having the simple point & shoot cameras? Just crop, resize & post. Makes picture taking easy... the photographer can concentrate on the subject, rather than camera settings.

I've been to most of the places you've been.. good stuff in utah. I think you might have seen my daughter & son in law at a cyclecross race in ogden a few weeks back.. If you bump into Taylor Foss, say hi to him for me.

Nice setup for these kinds of rides.. good choice!

btw, the burr trail is mostly paved, now.. only problems will be near bullfrog where the mud fills up the wash crossings. But the county clears it out fairly quickly, so it's an easy ride, even on a big bike.

I agree about the hamburgers at the silver star in huntsville! ..some of the best.

He's good people. After I gave him that pumpkin, he kept it for a month or two in his fridge in an attempt to stave off the rotting . Talanted, kind guy.
