We have a plan

Talked with Fredgreen after work and we are going to meet at the Bridgetown Tim hortons at 9 am on Sunday morning. This is the one by the 101 highway at the Gas station. This is rain or shine - and we are aiming for an easy to medium run on gravel and trails. (I have no idea what I am talking about regarding difficulty levels )

The plan is to ride towards Bear River onto New France - we will meet anyone who doesnt get to Bridgetown at the bridge in Bear River at 10:30 am Sunday. The leader will be Fredgreen cause he knows the area like the back of his hand.

This is open to anyone who isn't too serious, and knows how to laugh when he/she realizes we are total amateurs way in over our heads most times we ride. (see previous pictures of my mud bath yesterday)

Here goes nothing! See you at tims for breakfast and Coffee.

sooo I was wondering if I could meet you guys in Bear River...I'd be going through Bear River to get to bridgetown, so I'd kind of want to avoid the backtrack. It's just that from where I'll be staying, (lake rossignal), it's about 1.5-1.75 hours to bridgetown for me. cell phone numbers could be exchanged, meeting coordinates could be decided upon if deemed acceptable, but i'd really appreciate it.

Nate

We will leave Bridgetown and head to Bear River - arrival at the bridge in Bear River at 10:30 am on Sunday.

See you there.

New France...NS

Electric lights and railroads; before anyone else in the province!!! Hard to believe it went away/died!!!

That's what happens when you use up all the local resources!! This should serve as an example/reminder to rest of us humans......when we use up all the resources of the planet; the whole planet will be like the New France portion of this ride!!!!! Vacant and Abandoned....except for the Bugs!!

To bad your schedule doesn't coincide with NSORRA's AGM. It's happenning in Halls Harbour Community hall 9:00am Sun. June 12!!! Lots food after the meeting, and some local(guided) on and off road riding in the afternoon......Stop by if you can!!!!

It is fairly uncrowded here, but for truly wide open spaces there are better locations in Northern Canada.

They didn't leave because of a lack of resources, the price of lumber plummeted during WW 1, and the family Matriarch died. The decision to leave was financial.....

Quite sad actually. for more info on it, you can pick up the book "buried in the woods" it's about long lost n.s. ghost towns and how to get to them. LINKY

w00t!

Just got off the phone with YellowKnife and I'm in for Sunday as well. Bringing my buddy Larry, so it looks like we'll have a mixed bag of bikes for the trip....

Larry and I are both on DL1000 V-Stroms, but I'm sure we can at least keep up with the Beemer....if not the KLRs.

See ya all on Sunday!
