Damn straight! 4 out of our last 5 dogs and 3 out of our last 4 cats... All rescues. We are willing to take on Senoirs which is a little tough when the time comes to say goodbye, but gets paid for "in Spades" in love and devotion! Anyone considering getting a pet, should go check the local shelter, humane society, or recue FIRST. You won't be let down (at least not by the critters !).

Here's Lukas, my over sized Wheaton. Great buddy and hiking partner.

Well, he's older, certainly bigger, but still has the heart of a puppy. Not sure that'll ever change, and I'm glad for it.

He still likes to play in the mud, and he ain't afraid of no big dogs. Just playin'. But he did make that male husky his bitch.

Lady, spanial/lab mix, rescue (who rescued who?), she was originally being trained as a service dog but didn't have the temperment, the next adopter brought her back after week said she didn't like men......really, don't tell her that, I can't move without her on my heals.
Our super expensive shelter rescue, two major spinal surgeries ($5,000 ea) and a 4 day "mystery" illness ($4,500) trip to the vet, plus the usual stuff, pet insurance has paid for itself in spades. She's now 14.5, definetly on the wobbly side, some bladder control issues, but my shadow.

HEY, LET'S PLAY
what isn't in this pic, she weighs 35 lbs, my wife weighs 130 lbs and is struggling at the other end of the leash to keep her from chasing that chipmunk down a mountain side. Rocky Mtn. Nat. Park, what was funny was all the tourists snapping her pic. at the same time.

She sleeps odd as well

Dad, you are so going to pay for this

RUT ROH RAGGY! THE Wheaton has shagged me!?says the husky Yeah my 1st dog I had was a cockapoo,we got her from a puppy farm had her till I was 22,11 years,I was dogless for 5 years,I went to the shelter in 02 and brought home my 5 year old samoyed BLizzard I had to put him down in 2010,his hips were shot it broke my heart to have to put him down.Dogless again for 2 years looking for another sammy or husky, when co worker told me theres a 5 year old chow chow /Sheba Inu mix w 3 legs was down there and having 3 legs doesnt mean anything to a dog.I went down there looked at here, she was laying in a ball quiet amidst a pound full of barking pit bulls, then she came over to the fence and pawed @ me.I went back that saturday to get her and they told me when did I want to get her,I said Now and they were like NO NO No we have to prep her to leave ,Awee damn. I got her after work on a tuesday and took the week off to spend time w her. We renamed her Hallie from the girl from Paramore w redhair from Tripod and shes just the best dog ever,I swear shes more behaved then most of my co workersI dont know how to post a big screen shot of her here or I would have already. It made me sad to hear she was there for 2 years in the pound,so shes been down to the beach in my convertible several times to make up for the lost time. She also knows how to make herself at home and took over the couch/loveseat in the family room on bro and I
