Sudden stop with no warning?

Check the battery

Check for a short

A bad coil won't affect the other systems

I experienced this event on two of my airheads in the past. Funny thing was, the same wire caused it both times. Luckily I found it on the road the first time, wrapped some plastic casing and tape around it and got home. next bike it happened to, I checked the same wire just for giggles, and sure enough.....
Not saying that is your issue, but positive wire coming from diode board out the top of the timing/charging area was what did it both times for me. casing had melted, and when the wire jimmied itself against the aluminum, no power whatsoever.

Sounds like a condensor. Repalce it with a new one and see what happens. There is no other way to check it. I am betting it has the original. I also think this will solve your problem. That is, if you still have points which you seem to indicate you do.

so
Voltage to the coils OK
condenser brand new
points OK
Some hot wire batterie earth to coil earth, batterie positive to coil positive, doing on off, on off with the wire :
no spark
HT leads OK (I've tried some "racing" red ones, with Loge racing spark plug)...
And at this moment, real real smal spark

at this time I've tried a set of coils running on my RS and Bingo, the spark is here, not so big but here !

Batterie is now going to ??? "feed" and after that i'll try to start up

PS : sorry for my poor English

I don't think
Now that's night here so I'm going to check that tomorow

The think is that I've had this issue twice : one time no ignition when driving, maybe 2 seconds and ignition goes on by itself.
An other day, same story, put the bike on sidewalk, unscrew a plug, check it and vroom, engine OK
the last one is yesterday and no restart. I'll hope I've found the problem
Fingers crossed !!!

Weird. I would suspect the ignition switch if you have intermittant power to the coils and grounded points if you always have good power to the coils.

Your original post said that the bike lost spark and idiot lights so I would think that Beemerguru and matman1972 are on the right track. Check either the main supply wires from the battery, starter relay to the ignition switch or the main grounding points. Best of luck.
