Even if that was a big enough difference to dethrone the King of Baja, it still has to be in the same state as the owner.

It's in the rulebook.

Feh that!

When my mood gets too hot and I find myself wandering beyond control I pull out my motor-bike and hurl it top-speed through these unfit roads for hour after hour. My nerves are jaded and gone near dead, so that nothing less then hours of voluntary danger will prick them into life..."

Leaving Saturday morning but can certainly identify with already being gone in my mind, although it is hard to tell from here.

New synthetic earl in the V-Strom.

Sheepskin buttpad installed.

Tripod for the DSLR or no tripod for the DSLR? If I take it I won't use it. If I don't take it, it will be the one single piece of equipment that would have saved my life. feh.

Haven't even looked at packing yet, but I did just put together a pigtail for running the GPS and charging the phone in the tankbag.

My buddy with the Ultimate MX Hauler asked if I still needed it. I told him I was riding the 'Strom and he suggested we could weld up a receiver hitch, but that I'd need to hang of couple of cement blocks off the front to compensate for the weight of the DR on the back. It scares me that these people are my friends.

Okay FF's, here it is, the first actual semi-organized ride plan:

Saturday, Sept. 10th, 2011
brad21's Christmas Valley loop

Distance: about 200 miles
Bikes: DS (would prefer small DS bikes)
Departure: 8am-ish

The gist: leave Rancho Wachs' early, head south, stops in the East Fort Rock OHV area, Derrick Cave, "the world's biggest Juniper tree", Crack in the Ground, Green Mtn., gas and food in Christmas Valley. Possible side trip to the CV sand dunes and the Lost Forest, Fort Rock, Hole in the Ground, time/weather permitting. Pace will be "spirited" and smaller DS bikes would be best. KTM 950's okay, but the "big" Bimmers should plan on opting out of this one.

I will attach a Garmin file with tracks when I get home this afternoon. Please download it to your GPS's.

I guess I'd best get started on that receiver hitch.
