KTM 250SX Thread...

Is there one already? One that has build info and what not?

I am going to turn mine into a plated desert rider, or at least its what I hope to do. Sorry for so many dumb pictures. I am going to use this thread for some of my photo referencing.

I thought a "thumper" was a single cylinder engine? Does this exclude two strokes for some reason?

I just bought one and was doing some research on what people are doing to "Adventure-ize" them. The thumper talk forums are some of the worst out there. I like it here in ADVland.

Enlighten me. Just point me to the link. Or am I in the wrong forum? Is there a two stroke forum here?

Probably not much. Tranny limits you to about fifty mph without screwing up the gearing too bad. Great woods bike, better mx bike, shitty dualsport.

Lots of good tech info on ktmtalk.com

Thanks for the heads up. Pinger ~ Thumper... Whatever you care to call it... it's still two wheels in the dirt and goes like hell!

ring a ding

Thumper is definatley a four stroke term, a two stroke don't go thump, thump, thump. Maybe there needs to be a RingAding section. I've got a brand new ORANGE KTM hard parts ignition cover I will sell you for $45 shipped. Can send a pic. Looks like an adventure bike to me.

Fantastic we have established that we know two-strokes aren't thumpers. However there isn't a two stroke forum, and they have most in common with thumpers, therefore they belong here.

Looking forward to see what you do with it. I've been thinking lately a two stroke would make a good other bike to a big thumper.
