Thanks Teranfon. Varadero was first only a dream. It was somewhat difficult. Lots of paperwork and legal procedures. Had a number of agencies/institutions and issues to deal with before entering into the states as well as prior to purchase. It was more time consuming than anything else. I hired an importer to act as my agent. 2 to 3 months had passed before I finally had delivery and possession. I must say the entire time of waiting was nerve wrecking and seemed like an eternity. The moment I saw the bike upon delivery I exhaled a great sigh of relief and answered a question I had been asking myself daily; "was it worth the purchase, import, effort, time and money?" Heck yeah it was and my first ride on the Varadero only validated my decision to pursue my dream.

I'm glad you got it into the US Al. I was curious because a couple American friends, upon riding mine, immediately tried to get a Varadero into the States. There were plenty of restrictions and red tape and they finally gave up. Who knows how really hard they tried though.

If you ever need someone to enquire about parts at a Canadian dealer let me know.

It saddens me Teranfon your American friends for whatever reasons were detered from continuing their efforts to import Varaderos into the states. My guess is they were told of the "grey market" whereby they`d risk losing their Varaderos with no kind of compensation should they fail the US Govt inspection, (I`m not talking about customs either). I think it has something to do with Homeland Security. I took the risk to import my Varadero without the knowledge of such info. My importer was at liberty to inform me of that risk, but failed to do so, perhaps having been blinded with all the $$ signs he saw flashing across his eyes. Never the less my Canadian Powerhouse Honda dealer assured me that other than the time consumption I would have my Varadero imported into the states for certain. (it was my sales rep that informed me of the "grey market" matter after I had called to get updated info on purchase and delivery for at the time I couldn`t get in touch with my importer).

I have a contact in Canada regarding parts, but I`d like to have another as back up. Kindly forward to me the contact you have in mind. I`d greatly appreciate it.

New Varadero owner here...

Was looking around but could not find anything... where did you guys instal your 12V accessory socket? Ordered mine from dealership along with the bike and their mechanic said that space is really limited and was not sure where he would be able to install it?!? Was hoping to have it somewhere on the dashboard, near the handlebar - mainly for GPS.
Any pics would be much appreciated!

TIA

BTW, Varadero is 2009, socket is OEM Part #: 08A30-MBT-800, if that makes any difference.
