I bought NOS on Ebay on 2 occasions. The ones you picture look like the first ones I bought and put on my KLR and Mrs. Trips TW200. I believe they were chrome, but I painted one black for my KLR. I think the quality of those guards is a little better than the ones I bought later and put on my TW200 and that I gave to Turtledub.

Wish I could join you FF's today, but we are in the pre-Easter frenzy around the Trip house before our annual "high-stakes" Easter egg hunt and brunch event tomorrow morning. We'll probably ride tomorrow afternoon.

I don't recall as much dust getting kicked up last year....
but I was following the guy in front by the dust cloud...
also, at one point it was so bad I couldn't see the road...

Turtledub lost again

I'm wondering if the ride was over after our gas stop? Yep, I was lost or you'all were. Anyway I tried Rt.49 north and the park without luck. But after the ride home my body knew I'd had more than enough. Next time I'll listen to what's going on instead of eating my lunch.

Good ride yesteday! I hope everyone had fun although the dust was indeed thick at times ... I hope the filter on my bike is as good as the filters in my nose since my nose seemed to catch a lot of dust!!! We rode through some dry low spots in the trail sections that are normally slippery foot deep rutted out mud holes with no easy go arounds.. Spots I haven't seen "shallow" over the past two years were totally dry. I tried the helmet cam a few times but the battery was dead or near dead.. Here's one short clip I caught that happens to show the dust at a moderate level:

We almost had two back to back "drop-o-rama" rides with no bike drops which would be totally unacceptable.. Thankfully Tkeskin had a slow/no speed drop at the end of the day when we were trying to go around a gate that had rocks at each side.. By The Way; Did anyone happen to check to see if that gate was actually locked before we went through the rocks?

After that section two of us went east and two of uswent west towards our respective homes. P-funk almost witnessed me crash (wouldn't have been a "drop", definitely a "crash") in that pachaug loop section between 138 and 165. I was convinced I was going down hard but thankfully I stayed on it and rode on! No skill, pure dumb luck..

Random video still from the Sand pit. Looks like someone went left based on the sideways/backward glances.. CB?

Oh, and T-dub.. At the gas station we decided to get some real food and stop over at that "Town Pizza" place just down the road. We parked in the parking lot and you zipped right by us.. P-Funk went to see if he could chase you down when we realized you didn't see us and didn't know we were stopping but he didn't catch you! Sorry man! Afterwards we just rode through Shetuckett Turnpike, Old Voluntown Road, and the trail section that leads back to 165 before we called it a day..

Great ride, thanks everyone..

I blame that heavy eggplant sandwich I had for my little drop-o-rama :)

Alcontrast , I thought you checked the gate if it had a lock or not :)
