I'm done in Florida, starting home tomorrow.
May do it all in one day, but I'll probably stop somewhere and sleep. Gonna be off 2 or 3 weeks maybe ![]() Lets ride! p.s. Change them tires, they will kill ya on dirt. |

The dirty edition.
Took a ride today, had some roads in mind that I have not been down before.
72 South to Parsons, Hambelton and Hendricks. Then onto Jenningston Rd. Then came to this sign ![]() And took a break to think about what road I should take, ![]() ![]() So, I took the one less traveled

This road less traveled got steeper and rougher.
I'm thinking this is the Granville Bad Road ![]() ![]() This was fun for a few miles, would have liked to got more pictures but it was too steep to stop. This passed a few abandoned houses and farms, but then came to an (open) gate and a No Trespassing sign. ![]() So I turned around and back down the hill I went. At the bottom, made a left and shortly came to the Dry Fork river. No bridge, but a low water ford. Sadly, the water was about 5 feet deep. Having forgotten my add on pontoon I turned around. Again. Back up the way I came, and continued on the Jenningston Road. ![]() Thru Sully (have to check out Sully Rd sometime) and down to 33 East. Nothing picture worthy for a bit. Until I got here. ![]() continued down Sugarlands, then onto Close Mtn Rd. ![]() ![]() ![]() I've been thru here a lot, one of my favorite rides. |

Down into Horseshoe. This poor thing has been here for years, maybe I should rescue it.
![]() Up Hile Run Rd, and over another mountain. ![]() Nice old farm here, with a great view. ![]() ![]() Just a few years ago there was someone living in this house. Sad to see all these farms and homes empty. ![]() Top notch facilities too.

Yep, it was a good ride. About 140 miles total, could have used more dirt.
Looking in my Gazeteer at some of the roads I went by today. This could turn into a multi day thing, and you would still be in WV. Beautiful weather, perfect temps, great roads. Needed only boobies and beer to be perfect, except I don't drink and ride and a woman would have wanted to talk to me. (and not ride the bad roads) So we'll call it good. ![]()
Think I should get this as a tattoo. |

My $170 point and shoot. Casio Exilim, set at 2MB so it doesn't eat up a lot of bandwidth.

If you figure it out, let me know.
Because I'm still not sure I don't have a GPS on my bike, and I just sort of ride by intuition. Pick a general direction, after that I just take random lefts or rights, get lost and then have a good time finding my way home. |
