What a wonderful surprise this thread was. I've subscribed to it and as a Portuguese born man it fills me with joy to look at some of the pics posted.

I recognize Viana Do Castelo which is where i'm from. Keep it up! A dream of mine is to ship my GS over when i go there on holidays again and ride the entire country.

Obrigado e continua com forca Caralho!

You don't need to ship the GS...

not cheap, though...

Pretty warm here... as for everything else, I guess you're better off.

Heading down from Rio Caldo, where I met Heymarz and his lovely girlfriend, S.D. Lovely people. I was really glad we met, and sorry that they don't stay for a few more days.

Amazing how we managed to meet thanks to ADV.

The pic is unedited. Straight from the Contour HD, 720P, medium video quality and a mosquito stuck right in the middle of the lens...

My first try at video editing. Check it out and let me know what you think. I can't have gotten it perfect on my first try.

For a first go it turned out very good. Well done. Not my choice of music but that's just personnal preferences. I struggle a little with video in that unless you have loads of time and some friends you only get one perspective. To make things more interesting would be to cut in some shots of someone filming you riding the bike. But I will say that it demonstrates my opinion that I think the GS series of bikes were built for Portugal. Just perfect. So why did I sell mine?
Keep them comming friend

I know what you mean. Either that or stopping to change the camera position (boring! I want to ride, not direct).

I'm going to begin shooting more varied scenes, (off the bike, interacting with my girl), but I would be too uncomfortable to show those to everyone.
In this case I tried to focus on showing the scenery. Still, the segment with the horses turned out too long and boring. I've corrected that and I'm posting a new version (just because I'm stubborn and want it as good as I can get it).

Perhaps I'll try to change the camera a bit on each ride... Unfortunately (or not), I usually ride alone...

Since my main interest is simply to remember some rides, I'll keep doing it like I prefer. The videos won't be for sale...

Yeah I totally get it. Alot of photography is personnal and video's like this also to some extent. I do like seeing the scenery though and you have made an "on board" video that isn't just a ride down a road like alot of you tube stuff. So well done and I liked the horses bit, It helped add alot of interest to the video.
