Wow, you should be a TT racer riding around those roads at that speed Seriously though the scenery looks awesome. Thanks for the map too. I stand a chance of finding my way up there now.

Dropped it, but...

...at least I caught it on film.

Turns out I had left it in 2nd gear, instead of first... Must try higher revs next time

Parental warning: there's a lot of cursing in that short clip.

...and just so you know, I have no problem starting in 2nd gear, when I know it's in 2nd gear...

Thumb Portugese 2 Strokes

This pic was taken in March 2011 in Tavira which is a lovely town on the Algarve Coast not from from the Spanish border.

My wife and I have spent some time here each of the last two winters and hope to return. This part of Portugal has all these wonderful little indeginous two stroke motorbikes rolling around.

Most are rough and ready though still in regular use whereas this little beauty has been restored.

Can't wait to get back and see more of the country.

Thanks for the thread.

Cheers...Steve

Apparently I'm having some balance issues, lately. Today both tires slipped. I wasn't even going fast... You can't really tell by the footage, but my stomach noticed it really well.

Ahh yes the old "sand on the road" trick. I have had many such heart rate raising moments along with suicidal dogs. i guess we are going to have to get used to the roads deteriorating in Portugal now with the EU driven "reforms" and we aren't blessed with great road builders in the first place. I work in Germany and have to laugh when I see the state of the roads they think need repairing.

What's up, guys? Lousy weather to ride... Instead, here's the much improved version of my last video (available in HD).

Loved it! Brings back memories from when I was kid back in the '60s. My father would sit me on the gas tank of his BSA 250 and take me for a ride around the "aldeia". Thanks for sharing...

I tried posting a map, but apparently it only works in preview mode. Check it out here: http://karbono.blogspot.com/2011/12/tripes.html

Refresh the page if you can't see anything overlayed on the map.
