I would guess that another 2 1/2" on the shield is good for (say) 5" or 6" more inches of height ... ???

Yes, I would agree with that. A friend of mine who is 6' tall is having a fairing put on his 800GS in the next week or so. He also has a similar fairing on his DR 650 and he is VERY pleased with it's performance.

I will get him to give me a full report of his experience with the new fairing on his 800GS and I'll post it here.

The Mirage has now started to ship and we got a few pics of it fitted to an 800. Hopefully more photos to come as guys get them fitted.

Price is $490 US/CAD. There are no options with it. The options shown on the website are for the other fairings. We are considering whether to offer colourmatched fairings to the bikes, but everybody who seems to see them for real, think the satin black suits the bike best.

I would like this as well. I am not sure that I would use the top part right away. I browsed over to the website, and didn't see any there either.

Here is a photo of the riders view of the inside of the dash without the GPS platform. Sorry it's not mounted on a bike, but we don't have one here at the moment. You can see the predrilled holes for remounting the OEM speedo. The top section does not form part of the mounting structure, so there is no loss of strength/rigidity.

Justify it as an Xmas present to yourself ! If you did get round to wanting one and you definately didn't want the top bit, we could remove it for you if you wanted.

Are there two versions? Somehow I was under the impression that we could do both... as in alternate as wanted.

My wife hates Xmas shopping for me. I usually just go out and get the goodies that I want. It drives her nuts trying to find a gift for me

At least you get what you want then !

There is only one version, but if you wanted us to cut the top section off for you, then we could. Having said that, it would probably be best for you to see it 'in the flesh' as it is first, so that you can decide. I was talking to a guy who has had his for a week now and, although he will not be fitting his GPS up there, he said he prefered the look of it with the platform on and most who have seen it seem to think that.
