I'm still sorting my pics but let me say something...

Crashing your bike and breaking your renthal the first day of your trip Morocco is not a good way to start a 3500km trip...

'Cause in Morocco you won't find a brand new renthal, just a kind of HD handlebar... and for off-road it sucks

As Aurel was riding with a 12GS and a vstrom 650, we (the 12GS and the strom) thought is was fair to have a lightly disabled 990 to fight with....

But I swear we didn't push him to fall....

The HD handlebar was moving a bit because of the Renthal shape that have a bigger diameter in the middle.

So I had to find some motorcycle ingineers to fix that. They invite me in their High Tech Reseach Lab to show me how that contrary to Renthal here everything is hand made!

At this moment they were smiling a bit more than me...

Giving the final touch that makes the difference...

Now I'm ready to travel thousands km accross Morocco, the handlebar is still moving on bumps but that's what we call adventure isn't it ?

After the crash, the ride...

My zegas suffered too from the crash... I think it was no more waterproof...

In south Morocco it's dry, except sometimes where there is hidden mud Here I was quite well stuck...

A good place to check the top speed of the katoom!

Easy river crossing

Many many km of desert...

Wild Morocco! Those Camel can race fast in sand...

Moutain village

Want some snow ?

I like those trees

I drink as much as my katoom under this sun...

Moutain pass

Damned snow! I was close to fall...

Beware!

Does that make wheelie easier with all those tires at the rear ??

City of Fes, North of Morocco

That's all I think!

Did you go around the back of Erg Chebbi to Merzouga, and then across to Tagounite/Zagora?? I'm recognising a lot of the terrain in your pictures.
You were pretty unlucky to break those handlebars - I dropped mine loads of times, and they survived just fine.
Any other bike related problems aside from the bars and panniers??
