Indeed it looks like acerbis rally. I prefer this shape than the stock one.

Mate, you must have excellent peripheral vision, judging by the amount of helmets you wear!

Cheers, Maynard

Sorry for the late reply, yes they are Acerbis Rally. They say "acerbis" in white usually, but with some acetone and some scrubbing, you can get the silk screening off and they look a bit cleaner in my opinon.

Actually...I was. We took a route on Sunday which was about 170 miles between fuel stops. My right rear tank ended up in the other bike. I was then supposed to get free beer on the next trip, but after getting stuck in the dunes a few times, I cashed in early and got some help getting the bike unburied. Tipping the bike on it's side got me on top of the sand, but standing it up again was brutal. Now I owe him beer next trip!

Dominique got another 950? Good for him!

Tell him I've got as much into the bike as what I paid for it, but it's been worth every penny.

Larry,

your bashplate looks great (great start should I say).
Where did you get it from?
I think that some carbon fiber on the side would make it terrific.

"Great start" is accurate, as it's far from finished. I needed something to protect the pipes behind the motor and the stock set up didn't do the job. What you see is a bash plate from a 660 Rallye (older 1999 model) with a cave man effort bolting a piece of aluminum under it to extend it in the rear. Carbon fiber on the sides, with a curve upward like the current 660/690 Rallye style would be the best set up, but I've not put the time into it. I went to great lengths to do the rest of the bike "right" and the current bash plate is embarassing. But it was either that or not ride and I needed to ride!

Talking My new (to me) 950A

Just collected it yesterday, still shiny from the shop! 04 w/ 8k miles + gel seat + Akras + Hepco luggage (the Junior type, not the Gobi) + Scottoiler.

Seems to go really sweetly, apart from a bit of pulsing on the front brake, like there's a thin spot on the disk or something. Suspect it's some spillage from the valet that was done before I got it, I'll see if it goes away with use.

Only other problem was riding most of the way home in the dark with no lights on, I didn't realise the switch was on the right bar, I thought they were 'always on' (like my Triumph) and were just crap
