SWMBO is Internetese for a phrase uttered by Horace Rumpole (Leo McKern) in "Rumpole of the Bailey", a BBC show. Lemme tellya, Hilda was a real piece of work. I'm confident that none of our SWMBO's are really much like her.

From tvheaven.ca:

Quote:
"She Who Must Be Obeyed" - comes from SHE by Rider Haggard- 1856-1925. The 'She' in that story was kept alive in a cave for about a thousand years and may have even once been Queen Cleopatra.

Quote:
Rumpole is for ever quoting this and the Oxford Book of English Verse ( Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch, 1863-1944, 1919 edition).

The domestic side of Horace's life is equally contentious, as his wife Hilda (She Who Must Be Obeyed ) doesn't really understand or sympathize with her husband's desire to practice without the distractions of office politics or social niceties. Her fondest dream is for Horace to be made Head of Chambers, a position held for many years by her late father, C. H. Wystan. Their only meeting point, besides their home at #29 Froxbury Court in the Gloucester Road, seems to be their son...
BTW, Horace would fit right in here on ADVrider. In jomomma, anyway. In fact, he'd be kickin' ass there.

Oh, okay, a 950 pic:

great distraction, thanks stephen.

now we need some photos of SWMBO astride a 950. preferably topless. preferably actually riding. and most preferably doing gravity defying air time. that could make this the most popular thread of all time.

ok, the air time is a pipe dream. how about we just start with top on?

if SWMBO might obey me i pledge to thus enhance this already fine thread.
