Just a quick question Adventure owners. What is the typical fuel economy you are getting on long trips with no off-roading and staying within speed limits. If possible , please tell me about the new 2009 model.

Also, if specifying MPG, please quote is its UK gallon or US gallon. Thanks!

Pretty boring scenery... but on that day everything felt right... the bike... the river.. me...

Regarding fuel economy: From somewhat tolerable to really bad... It all depends on how you use that fun-o-meter on the right side of the handlebars...

bunny bhai,

40-45mpg (US gallons) is considered normal (?), with high of upto 50mpg and lows of even 25mpgs not being unheard of.

To give you a better idea, i get around 12-15kmpl on my '07 990S (fuel injected - supposed to give more mileage) if i ride at constant 120kmph, but once your right wrist gets snappy and the speeds go upto 160kmph, the mileage drops quite a bit, say 10kmpl. (and this happens quite often with these bikes )

on an average, you can expect a range of 260-280kms on a tank full. However, the '09 Adv's are reportedly more powerfull (also revving higher?) so that might bring down the mileage a bit.

There are quite a few threads on the OC about this, so a search will provide you more info than you can imagine

I consistently average between 13 and 14 km/l and never push my drive beyond 240 before filling up.

I guess I'm a coward that way!

39-42 Miles per US Gallon with luggage while running 5-15 over posted limits on a 2954 mile trip in six days of actual riding out of a nine day trip.

I was so excited when I realised I had dragged my bag in some twisties!

I was wearing goggles but it was raining . So I took it off . We went to go and swim by the Lake , and I must have misplaced it somewhere down there . So i guess I will have to get some new ones .
