I didn't take a lot of pics, but here's one shortly before leaving on the 8-10 day trip that ended in the first hour, on the first 3km of what should've been 3000km of dirt roads. (not me in the pic.)

I was still fiddling with the damper, getting the feel for the bike with it's load, and struggling to turn off the ABS with gloves. Stop-go, stop go. Lost some time and wanted to catch up to my buddy. Gave it horns, hit a pair of huge sand pits in the road, the last with a lip/ridge on the other side, while doing approx 120km/h. Bike bottomed out, snaked, bucked, ejected me and did some cartwheels on its own. broke my nose in the helmet, hurt my right hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. (Something still not right with my hand.)

Still did the trip with the 640's less than 2 weeks later (had to get a nosejob first). Had an epic desert trip without major bad incidents.

another "after" pic

Joysus mate!

Nothing like a 230kg bike doing cartwheels to re-arrange the body work.

So what was the damage report?
