Dirt is a beautiful thing, but...

These:

Lots of this:

Equals this:

Notice the scuff marks on the tank...
These boots are excelent. The best off-road boots, IMO. But the inside rubber calf adjuster is too abrasive on the tank and frame. Especially with dirt and mud... My poor baby!!!

Damn, how many rides did it take to wear it down like that Mikas ? I have Alpinestar Tech 10 boots that I wear for MX and was planning on using with the 950, looks like I need some clear plastic adhesive asap. If nothing else, it shows that ypu actually ride the bike and gives it some character.

The bike has 25.000Kms now. The major problem is mud and the Sidi FlexForce SRS's inside rubber adjusters. Normal boots have smooth leather on the inside. The FlexForce have rubber. Mixed with mud, they're lethal to the paint...

"Anywhoo", the bike gets proper use . It commutes daily to work, with sun or rain, it does this:

and this,

and this

this,

this,

I love this bike!!!

I went to a sign shop and they gave some of their scrap vinyl sticker. Its not very thick, but it has worked (my pants fit over my boots). 3M is the way to go, IMO. Buy a role of that a place it in the wear spots.

Cyclegear sells the really thick number plate film in clear. I made a template and covered each side of the tank from that wear area you show all the way up to the radiator exit near the front of the tank. Good stuff.
