I need a hug.

Tell me it's gonna be alright fellas.

Economy's got me down a lil bit and I had to let the big girl go.
A week or so ago I took a deposit from a riding buddy with the balance due
within 2 weeks.
Well he showed up about an hour ago unannounced with the rest of the money.
I've been bummin ever since I put it up for sale and didn't even get a chance to say goodbye properly.
She just left about 15 minutes ago.
I've never sold a machine that I was more sorry to see go.
There is hope however,,,,,when we get our ducks in a row I have the green light from the Missus to get a new one.
After reading some of the other threads concerning the FI bikes it looks like I don't want anything older than 2010.
I wonder when the Adventures will get an update.
Any thoughts?

Nate, I am sorry to hear you had to let the 950 go. I cant imagine losing my 990. I hope you get those ducks in a row fast so you can get back in the orange saddle.

They are and they arent....

I havent seen DG's bike up close, but Im pretty sure theyre the EXC guards with the metal adapter at the bottom (as per KTM/Touratech kit).

The fork guards are longer - that much is good.
But the RHS fork guard doesnt match the bracket - and as such has to be bent out of shape to fit.
The metal brackets have captive nuts - and in my case, it took next to no sideways pressure to pop them out (the bent fork guard provided the force). They are press-fit, so once they come out, they will never stay in again.

The thing that bugged me, however, is that the metalwork at the bottom makes removing/replacing the front wheel more difficult. The brackets interfere with the brake discs when you twist the forks to let the tyre past the callipers...

No doubt I am very lucky.
I went through a lot to be able to live in Colorado (11 years in immigration, etc) and I don't regret it one bit.
I can't wait until the "other side" of Colorado melts out and I can play with the 950 up high.
This really is adventure motorcycle heaven (as my smugmug can attest to )

p.s. when I (eventually) scratch my 950 all to hell there is a very good chance it is going to end up painted just like yours

Yours is one of my favorite looking 950s of all time
