Just to finish off the highjack... I tape the lock on the mount; it's a barrel-lock and won't work full of dirt. If I know I'm getting dirty I just pull the lock completely per the Rotopax recommendation--the lock does not affect mount security other than for theft. Tape's for when I don't wanna stop or forget...  Since the photo in the last post, I added some weatherstripping to keep the bolt heads offa the cases.  Right side has tools, first aid, etc...if I run out of room I'll finally get around to moving the KTM kit back under the seat.  Left side has both tubes (hey, I got the space...), 10" tire irons (yay!), MTB hand pump, electric pump, costco towels, axle socket and 3/8 drive ratchet, tow strap and prolly a few other things...  These are a funky shape but can actually hold quite a bit. Easy on/off, narrow, I really like 'em. If I put a little effort into organizing/repackaging my crap I could increase the available space by probably 50%. I'm thinking about trying some really thin weatherstripping on the door to keep what little water leaks into them out, also. Hope this helps! Steve

My new to me 990 Adv... Almost
This is what I have of the bike so far that the previous owner shipped to me. Decided to set it up on the shop floor and make vroom noises... The bike will be here next Weds, can't wait! I'm upgrading from a '99 F650 and have had my eye on the Black KTM's for many years.
List of things to do when it arrives (Farkles are here and waiting) -Ride the piss out of it -Mefo Explorer, TKC 80 tire combo -CJD pegs -Weld 86 skidplate/side stand dealio -Tune ECU calibration! (built myself a comm cable last night) Thanks for all the inspiration and motivation from years of lurking!
