Nice bike indeed - where did you get your seat from, and are you happy with it?

Wow!

So with 2wd do you simply turn the front into the ground and pop the clutch? It should roll/pop right up, correct?

Or Craig strong like bull?

HI Andreas,

the seat , is the original model 990R, covered with canvas dakar version 30 edition.

The seat of the R model, is designed for driving off road on the footrests..., to travel by road, personally find it very hard.

Greetings.

05 with 2200 miles

an 05 with only 2250 miles or whadevah WTF.... it's not been rode, just pushed up and down the driveway a bunch of times. I put 2500 the first month I had my 05, and I haddah work too. Something over 18,000 the first year, and most of the year it was raining where I was at. Course on a 3 week vacation I put between 6 & 7,000 miles on it too.

Over 18000 miles in the first year? Pfft; I did 12000 on my two week vacation.

I did that the first week I had it. Bought it in Corpus Christie Texas and rode back to Aspen first three days of ownership.

D'oh! I was too stupid, I bought mine in town. I should have bought mine in some strange foreign land (like Texas) so I could have had a nice long ride when I brought it home.

Well I was headed for a solo Baja/Death Valley trip. I got about 175 miles before the clutch started slipping. I'm not sure why. It was all highway travel before it started slipping.

I did tow a BMW for 40 miles in Baja a few years ago. It was hard on the clutch but it hadn't shown any signs of slipping till now.

Anyway what's the current wisdom for new a clutch?

Just a guess, but you most likely did an oil service before your trip....is it possible you did not not use a proper motorcycle rated oil with the additives for keeping the clutch from slipping?

AUT, is KTM ownership in Austria as "proud" I guess would be the word, as Harley ownership is in the U.S.?
