The stock seat was killing my lower back. Kinda made me hunch over a bit when riding. Had the same issue with my KLR650 stock seat. Couldn't ride it more than an hour without feeling stiff, but could log a whole day on my 07 R1 without feeling stiff. Changed the KLR650 seat to. Custom one I made with carpet padding and can now ride the thing all day without the seat being a big concern. Although, it's not the prettiest thing.

I haven't logged many miles on the Touratech seat on the KTM yet but my initial impression is that it is a huge change over stock.

I'm leaving Colorado in 8 days and will be riding for probably the next 30 or so. After I log a few long days I will post back with some more impressions of the seat.

Thanks - would appreciate an evaluation, as I'm thinking of letting Andrea at Powersportseats.com go to work on my stocker. She apparently can work magic with profiles, gel pads etc. Just want to give my saggy disc at L4/L5 a chance to enjoy a full day in the saddle.

Wink

I used this link to build the seat for my KLR650. We did two of them and are very happy with them. Got some free foam scraps from a carpet place.

Will let you know how my KTM Touratech seat is compared to the one I built on the KLR. I'm actually going to ride the KTM for a week, then hop on a plane to go ride the KLR with a friend for a week and then back on the KTM for a few weeks. So it should be a good test of the seats back to back.

Nope. Should be here same day I get my graphics(Wed). 22x, West of Bragg Creek. Beauty of a day/ride. Almost have my 300k burn in time for my Wings pipes now.

I feel sorry for a lot of you okes. You probably cant ride half the year. What do you do? Go in the garage and sit on it and dream for the snow to clear?

I ride everyday all year. Put on about 30-40 000 km per year on my 2 bikes.

This is how I get by in the winter time. 800cc 150 HP fuel injected twin cylinder 2 stroke. Next best thing to riding a motorcycle.
