And for good reason...

Here's a good reason to warrant a prepped hoist kit like Alleycatdad's...

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=729772

I ride this trail as a local tune up when work keeps me busy. It's generally not recommended for the over 500lb club, and especially not on a hot day with a worn tire. The top of the summit is up there, with steep sheer shoulders throughout. I'd say a hoist kit is well worth it's weight in a case or duffel.

This is 160 feet of ~1300 lb 4mm; 100' of 6mm takes almost exactly the same space. I like the reach of the longer rope, once you start creating MA with pulleys it uses up rope in a hurry.

The 4mm is harder on the hands, but a clove hitch on a 'biner helps that significantly.

Zipped up. In addition to the stuff in the pic above, there's a big 4mm loop (about 5' diameter), another about 3', and a few odds n ends. The bag is about 11x5x4 inches.

She hasn't posted since 2007 and her TankGirls.co.za has had no activity since 2010. Wonder if she's still riding? Makes me wonder about the fate of Tonto. Is she permanently in stable?

From her TankGirls website...

Satan's 950. That damn thing will outrun the word of allah through a nigerian church camp.

I'll put it this way, there's a few 750 and 1100 sport bikes around that have learned all they need to know about messing with a KTM 950 at a redlight when they screwed with this one. If we can ever figure out a way to keep the front down so we can stay in the power band in the first four gears this thing will be a threat - before you start, yes it has a 17 front sprocket. I've told SS that I think we aughta drop a couple of teeth off the rear sprocket and tall it up a little more to see if that will help keep the front down - either that or just go ahead and put wheelie bars on the damn thing.

Finally Joined The Asylum

After nearly 2 years of lurking in and around the O.C. I have finally taken a big swig of the Orange Kool-Aid, well black in this case because I hear they are the fastest , and joined the ranks of the 950 Adventure owners club.

A special thanks goes out to DieselTwin for parting with his baby. She will be rode hard and well taken care of.
