If you squint real hard and look out the corner of your eye it almost looks like a motorcycle

If the wife sees it I'm a dead man...

Looks pretty complete. Just a couple of things missing? Nice sticker on the backbone anyway. Gotta start somewhere.
Check with Mouse, he has a sidecar that matches up pretty good.

You know that's just the sort of thing I'd buy

Nice to have an excuse to use some of the spares I've got laying about.

Cheapo late R65 tank off ebay and a little gentle persuasion with a copper faced mallet and it's starting to look like a bike. The rear subframe had already been modded so I just need a Mono seat and were on the way to a R100GS Basic. The engines a 1981 UK spec RS so 70 BHP

The Frames an import from Germany without any paper work so I'm going to fling it together, get it MOTed and insured and then I can apply for the vehicle registration documents for the UK.

Other way around mate.
Get it insured on the frame number.
Get it MOT`d
Apply for registration.
It`ll doubtless need an inspection at your LVLO (they no longer come out to you).
Over 6 months old or 6,000 miles and it`ll be Customs Exempt.
55 registration fee plus the cost of a tax disc.
Sadly you can`t choose your own index now, they just select one for you.

All info and forms are in the free Vehicle Import Pack available off the DVLA.

Cheers Tarka.

I've spoken to one of the guys from the BMW club. He issues a certificate to confirm the year of the bike so I should be able to get an age related plate...sound about right

Hopefully catch up with you next year sometime.

About time for an update

It's all moving along nicely thanks to Ebay and the generosity of friends

The hard parts tracking down the headlight and shell components cheaply.

Just need a bit more work before I can get it tested and then hopefully a logbook. Then it'll be pulled down and done how I want it.

The Corbins off my PD. I've a mono seat on it's way along with a Wilbers rear shock.

Rob there are loads of frames on e-bay right now cheap, if you wanted a V5 and set of numbers, could save you loads of time and money

It's got to be a Paralever frame Kev. They're like rocking horse poo to find and fetch big money when you do find one. Motorworks want 650 for a frame with a logbook.
