Jupiter and the moon are pretty tonight. In some parts of the world Jupiter will pass behind the moon. Around here they will just appear to be close. It's going on right now if you can stand to turn off the reality tv and go out in the cold.

That blue color on the left side of the moon was unexpected. What is it? Optical illusion or reflection from Jupiter?

How long before that happens again?

Now I believe there is more than one Blue Hole in Arkansas but this one is on Hurricane Creek northeast of Hector just to the north of White Oak Mountain. I've been in and out of there three different ways and none of them are what I would want to do on a big bike. There may be other roads/trails going in but I haven't come across them yet. It is a beautiful place though. Jupiter was sweet next to the moon. Thanks for the heads up! Greg

Blue Hole
![]() A buddy of mine went on down to the waterfall and snapped this picture. I was too concerned to get back to my truck since daylight was getting scarce. I think this would be an awesome place to go in the summer. Greg

Anyone been riding on the Ross property lately? Just wondering what condition the single track is in.

We usually stay at lake DeGray resort. Where is Bar-50. Might check it out.

Re: Ross Property
The trails are in great shape, except for storm debris blocking the route. The traction is fantastic, as always. We try to not let the track wash out and rut up. The Arkansas Dirt Riders and several of the local riders have been working very hard at cutting and clearing up the large trail debris, and have quite a few miles that are at least ride-able. It's going to be a while before the northern perimeter trails and some of the extreme western mountain trails to the north are really as clear as they should be. We welcome all the trail rehab efforts that anyone wants to come out and do. I know it means a lot to all the single track riders that love the place, because I fall into that category. There will be a work party (two wheeled) leaving from the gas line right-of-way at 9 am Saturday. They have chain saws, so they will need "throwers" and vine cutters. (I'll be throwing and vine cutting.) Ya'll are welcome to come join us. Just walk up and introduce yourself. I'll be happy to shake your hand. Jim, I cannot make it this weekend but will be planning a trip soon, and we would be happy to help in the trail clearing effort. BTW, our single track at Breezy is really coming along. Lots of new members and they are working hard to get it cleared.

Navaho, you sent a google map link for the Ross Property that didn't work. Please try again. You have to use the link button in google not just the browser link.
thanks http://barfiftyranch.com/ Took a few searches but here it is http://www.atvescape.com/the-directo...oss-foundation From the youtube vid I saw it looks to be small bike single track, probably not the best idea on a 650gs. guavadude screwed with this post 02-15-2013 at 09:44 AM |
