This Triumph eats batteries. This will be my fourth (when I replace it). I suspect that I may have killed this last one by repeatedly trying to start the bike before I realized the coil was bad. I've already charged this one five times.

I gotta check it, I don't know what brand. Bike master is bad, I'll remember that. What happened with yours, Doc?

I've had a couple of street bikes with an appetite for batteries. One of those also ate tail light bulbs. I remember checking the voltage at different rpm thinking it was the regulator. Followed Dad where he left his bike and doubled back. Let him sit on front and realized the problem. That thing shook really hard in back! I tried packing foam around the battery, but it still killed one every year.

I don't usually let a bike sit more than 2-3 weeks. That's my big secret for battery life.

I've found that to be pretty effective myself.

So they'd be pretty good if you lived in Wisconsin, I guess. You get one riding season worth.

Heat & vibration are a batteries worst enemy on a motorcycle.

Where do they go on choppers? Wrapped in a hot oil tank that vibrates like Doc's goats .......

I take mine and hand them is a soft bag out in the wind.

Doc's goats vibrate? I thought he liked the real flesh and blood kind, not the ones sold at dildo shops.

I used to go through batteries almost yearly until I bought a few Battery Tenders. I swap them around and charge batteries every now and then. I dont think I've had to buy another battery in 3 years or so now. They definitely work.
