I talked to Mr. Covert briefly last night mainly to see if he was OK after taking a pretty bad spill on the track. He said that he might schedule another vintage meet like last year and that it might be sometime in the fall. There's no set plans for any more races this year. Most probably there will not be another pro meet this year.

Thanks for the info, nothing wrong with watching vintage bikes run either. Just make a trip down there all the better.

Saturday I am going riding. My family will be gone so I can ride all day with no guilt.
It will be dusty. The route hasn't been decided on yet. Kinda depends on who shows interest.

I'm planning a ride this Friday from SE Okla over Talimena drive and then up through Ark to the Ozark area. I understand there is a great place to eat as you enter Mena off the scenic drive (supposed to have great pie). Any suggestions?

And yes, we'll be dropping by Oark later in the weekend.

Thanks

The lodge at the state park has had good to excellent food every time I've been there.
The butcher block or cutting block, I can't remember which, in Mena on 71 is also good. When you stop at 71 after coming down the mountain, turn right. About a quarter mile on the left.
I haven't been to Mena in a year.

Thanks for the suggestion, we ate lunch there yesterday. And then today we made it to the Oark Store where we met the new owners of the establishment, Brian and his wife Reagan. Brian is a nice guy and seemed genuinely surprised when I told him the store was famous (he was probably just pulling my leg). Anyway, the food was great and the portions generous. Looks like the store is in good hands for years to come.

We should get a little rain to kill the dust this week. Saturday will be much cooler than today was.
I just put a real knobby take off on the front.

we did indeed. It's a hidden gym of a place.
Every time we go out there, we find something new.

I don't know how much rain we got the last two days. The little noise ruts the highway department ground into 7 had some water in them when I got home today, but my yard still sounds like walking on velcro.

There's some kind of pirate rally about to happen. The biker bars have signs out front. I came up on a biker injury this afternoon. Looked like he turned left in front of an oncoming car.
My magical powers tell me the magnet rock on 7 between Nimrod and Ola will collect at least one bike this weekend.

advice please

Hey gang. My wife and I will be heading to Daisy SP next weekend and plan on riding the 31 mile trail out of the park. It goes north I believe towards Mena. I have not done much dual sport riding out there yet. Plenty of miles of tarmac on the Tiger though. Any other suggestions for a good day trip or loop. We will just be there for the weekend.

Many thanks.

Brad

we gots to keep this thread goin..so with that, I wanted to mention twitter agn to you central ar folks...I would like to see the centADV network down there..this could be a big asset to all of us..as some of you know, we been using it up here and so far it's been working pretty good. It is free (depending on your text program)...we dont do too much BS on it tho..maybe once a month or twice at most..it usually pretty quiet, but it is handy to send one text out to many..came in handy a couple of weeks ago when Albie put out there that he wanted to go for a ride and had no one to ride with..lo and behold, he found someone to go ride with.

The main reason is for assistance..if you are out and need help, one text goes out to alot of people and usually one or two will be able to assist and those who can respond will text so thus saving multiple trucks and trailers or 911 calls..text will work way out in the woods when signal is at a minimum...anyway, we got Duane (Mister Deliberate) in on it and hopefully, he can help get the central ADV group goin...hope y'all think abt it..as I said, I see a good thing here and it's out there for us to use.
