If Isaac isn't here by 7:15 I am riding to work. The ride home will probably be super wet, but everything but my feet will stay dry. Work boots aren't waterproof.
Saturday morning is a maybe, depending on the weather.

I tossed the idea around about riding to work tomorrow since Isaac won't be in our neck of the woods until late tomorrow evening. Friday will be a wash. May skip riding tomorrow since I'm going to pick up a new battery for my CRF... I've been convinced by my peers to ride Ross on September 8th. I have to get it this week since I'm working next week, in of all places, Baton Rouge. I was supposed to be there this week.

8 am Saturday at the iron springs campground on highway 7. Initially headed across to 27 on FR11. From there it will depend on who shows up and on what kind of bike.

One of those biker rallies is in town next weekend. Reserve a motel room before you come down. It even spills over to some surrounding towns.
239 miles today. Twice today I came out on pavement and thought it was a different highway. Several dozen deer, a dozen turkey, and 6 roadrunners. FR72 West from highway 27 is a really nice road.

I stayed 4 hours late at work tonight. The ride home was busy. Already a lot of rally people in town.

So avoid Hot Springs? We'll be at Ross sometime around 10:00 at the second parking area off of 128. Figure we'll be there until 4:00, which is our usual M.O. We'll just come in from Social Hill to avoid the crowd. If anyone is in the area and bored, come on out.

The rally is mostly chrome and beer.
The antique motorcycle club has a display in the visitor center parking lot worth seeing, and it is free. A few pushrod Triumphs, RZ500, perfect DT1, RD400F Daytona Special, several old Huskys, perfect CZ with Marty Tripes sig on it, beautiful XR500 engined Knight framer, 1916 Triumph, a few old Harleys, several oddballs from the thirties and forties. There was a green '71 DT100 just like I had, even had the weird stock bars. 14 years old, flat on the tank it would indicate 60mph for me. Big step up from the moped.

Weekend work will probably disappear for me. I will be laid off for one week in November. Only 8 hours overtime this week. More riding when the weather is perfect for it. Throw me in the briar patch!

Coulda shoulda been at Ross today. Absolutely perfect conditions: temperature, humidity, traction and lack of dust! even hooked up and rode several miles with Ronnie Tanner. Hate that it will be shut down for hunting October 1st.

I would love to have seen that CZ!

Our last ride on Ross was today. Rain and lightning were threatening so we headed back. The storm never really did move on down. My daughter was scared. I try to keep riding fun and easy with her.

Storms? It has been absolutely clear as a bell here in Jonesboro but I do see a cloud bank back in the south along the horizon. I was supposed to be at Brock Creek this weekend but had to travel out of town on business and didn't get back in time. A few of the NE locals are there riding today. I remember when my son was small (on his XR80) and I was working on the race course at Bee Branch during a thunderstorm with lightning hitting all around. Got to the truck right before the hail. He thought it was "cool"!

We're planning another ride there at Brock on the second Saturday in October (mark that on your calendar MartiniUp). Guess that will have to do until Ross opens back up. That is supposed to be January 1st, right?

My brother is coming up from FL with his Aprilia 450. We are riding October 6 and 7. He's never been to Chula or Forester so we will probably ride that area at least one of those days.
He's taking the Aprilia apart so it will fit in his Hyundai Accent.
