I haven't been hanging - work takes me on the road and the company is paying for the hotel. But I will be taking a family vay-k next month and will bring my Chrysallis to play with it at my buddy's house. He & his wife have a house on Lake Erie. Just need to find a pair of trees at the right distance and we'll do some test hangs.

I just took delivery of my wbbb (1.1 double) and I love it!...after just one backyard setup I can't understand why people buy tents...so much more comfy, cooler in the summer, easy to set up, and packable than a tent. I'm in!

What is the minimum separation of trees for a hammock? Is there much difference between brands?
Is it practical to have a hammock for two or better to have separate hammocks?

we went camping last weekend(not on the bike) and carried both of my boys out for the weekend. My boys are in LOVE with the hammocks.
I was given a WB Traveler for Fathers Day. I may put it up in the back yard this weekend and take a nap. :) |

So you crawl into this hammockie thing as a catepillar and come out as a butterfly? Seriously, I never knew this was an option to sleeping miserably on the ground, which leaves me paralyzed. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Its a great way to check out your kit. Mom passed away back in Feb, I've since moved back in to care for dad who has Parkinson's. Every Friday and Saturday night I camp out in his back yard. Woke up Sunday morning with 3.5 inches of water in the rain gage. Stayed completely dry, but didn't sleep much with all the noise, even with ear plugs. All night I'm laying there counting the seconds between the lighting observed though my closed eyelids and the rolling thunder. daryl |

OK, I got my WBBB 1.7 but needed some carabiners to hang it. I went to the climbing store on Sunday and the part time kid didn't have a clue as to what ratings were. I ended up with this
![]() with this information Weight: 49 g Material: hot-forged aluminum 7000 Color: gray frame, orange gate Breaking strength: - major axis: 23 kN - open gate: 9.5 kN - cross-loaded: 10 kN Gate opening: 20 mm CE EN 12275 type B / UIAA 3-year guarantee So being a n00b when it comes to hammocks my question is will this work for my tree straps and hold my 250lb fat ass?
