Drilled a new hole on the stock links to make them shorter, shorter raises the bike and now I get to take all the preload out of the shock for a softer ride. I might have gotten a little greedy, the shock is extremely close to the coolant tank and frame now...might need to drill another hole to make the link slightly longer. Gonna run a day and check for rubbing. |

I'm hoping for the same, love the little bike, just need a bit more comfort. With the taller seat and "longer" suspension I can sit flat on the seat with legs straight..flat footed now. |

Found some mirrors that I can actually see out of, stock Husky 610 mirrors. Made some block off plates for the stock mirror mounts.

Madstad Engineering just finished a custom order I had placed awhile ago for the little CBR250R. I will post up pictures of the install after the new year. Over 5k on mine so far, still loving it. Let's try to get a Bay area ride/tech day going one of these days in 2013.

I like the Laminar Lip, but am open to other ideas that might be a little taller...

Super interested to see that one!! Think they'd just sell me one too? Sucking fuel down at 48mpg the last three tanks. I can smell the ethanol at idle, I think those greedy bastards are hot batching us during the winter. I tried keeping it at 65 on the way home last night, only took me five minutes longer, but it sure is scary having cars blowing by me at 15-20 faster than me.

Typing out loud here...
75mph at 8k in 6th, 46 mpg. 70mph at 7.5k in 6th, 48 mpg. 65mph at 7k in 6th, 51 mpg. 65mph at 8k in 5th, will calculate that on today's fillup. |

How close do the mirror stems come to hitting the windscreen, Larry? When I was poking around looking at one, I was eyeing the bar mount locations, and thought for sure that handlebar mirrors (stems) would clack into the screen at full lock both sides. Ahh! *squints at screen* Aftermarket bars with wider spread? As an aside/ my NC700X gets hideous mileage so far! I haven't done better than 58 US mpg ![]() At least my trustworthy CBR125R gets close to 100 mpg still... |

Yeah, wider bars. Brake master hits at full lock, I don't ride much in town, non-issue. I was getting 58 mpg tipped on my head with the stock clip-ons, it was killing my elbows. I'm hoping I can get some back with a different windscreen, I'm just too damn big for the little guy. |

Your milage is stunning. I get 70 mpg steady when doing 65 mph, (barely under 7000 RPM) sitting up straight. Stock gearing, stock exhaust. Whole bike is stock. Never drive above 65 though.

Are we talking apples-to-apples: 70 mpg-US right? NOT 70 mpg-Imperial?

Thanks. ![]() The 65mph in 5th at 8k experiment paid off, gained .8mpg, the little guy needs lower gearing for me to run 8k at 70 in 6th. I easily spend 30 miles per day pinned full throttle to maintain 70mph at 7.5k, that is a gas sucking stretch. Next chain and sprocket set I'll bump the revs up a little. First a windshield, that will probably bump the mpg's up the most. Emailed Madstad, no answer, might just grab one of their universal kits to get started. |
