Looks like great fun!
Thanks for your hard work! I rode some of this route between New Castle and Mountain Lake last Sunday and will send you a PM regarding a possible revision. Regards. Galen

Wow, I looked at the preview you sent, good job. I didn't realize it was going so far south, it looks awsome.
A group of us rode a few sections of it last weekend as part of the twvt that chip put together. Here is some road damage from all the rains around mountain lake. ![]() Some of Tubb Run road that intersects 211. ![]() A view from fs 179 off of peacefull valley road (611). ![]() So far, I've ridden the western most leg of your route from Pearisburg to Edinburg and I feel like it's doable on my KTM 990 (and have done some of them on it) but it would NOT be as much fun as the drz. The roads are all mostly smooth gravel with a few areas of ruts (water damage) and mild rocky sections (ledges under 4 inches and fist sized rocks). These obstacles are not a problem on the big bike but it would be very tiresome because of the switch backs. Some of these sections are VERY crooked roads with tight steep switchbacks and will wear your ass out even on the drz especially if you try to make any time. The views are spectacular and the roads are more fun than allowed. I look forward to scouting farther south of pearisburg. mtnflow screwed with this post 04-22-2011 at 07:19 PM |

Thank you very much for the pictures and the report, that is exactly what I love to see. Chip (intothenew) and I exchanged some notes last year and I saw there was some overlap in certain areas near WV. With that said I have tried to stay as close to the theme of the Commonwealth of Virginia off of the pavement and hopefully you guys will enjoy it. I should be all caught up on emailing inmates the files so Im calling it a night. I look forward to more pictures and reports from the ADV collective
