Two up weekend in Vermont.

My wife Kathy & I took a two day, one night run in northern Vt for the weekend.

Once we had the bike loaded we posed for the obligatory first photo.

We headed up Rt 14 where we were on the look out for Folks in the road.

We stopped in Plainfield at the Dancing Goat for a light breakfast.

Using the Zumo I took some gravel detours.

The dirt up here on the class 3 roads is in really great shape right now.

Of course one dirt road leads to another, and this one was getting smaller by the minute.

I don't see too many Fiestas up here.

Having left the class 3 road we were deep in class four territory when re came across this camp in the boonies some where between Hardwick and Glover.

I figured, great! If this guy can get to his camp we can get out.
Of course things don't often go as planned.

A little grease and allot of stream pebbles.

I didn't get any photo's of the spot I had to walk through and pull the front tire over. I'm sure you get the idea.
We busted out onto a class 3 road with a collection of VW Beetles.

Kathy opted to walk out. Smart girl.

After getting back on Rt 16 in Glover I revisited this sight from the VT Tag-O-Rama last year.

We then came across this "Museum".

Quite the matchbook collection.

...and safety-pin collection.

The beach at Lake Willoughby was a popular sopt.

We had a great lunch here....

Highly recommended food spot.

More of Lake Willoughby.

An impressive collection of fishing bobbers.

We found a suitable camp site at the BelVeiw camp ground. It's a private mostly R/V site with a few tent sites around.

This is probably the best bike site.

After setting up camp we went for a supply run to Derby. This is Little Salem.

Back at camp in the Kermit.

This site has a nice view of Crystal lake.

We jazzed up the freeze dried dinner with an onion and pepper.

Day two to follow.....

Day 2

Shaping up to be another hot one.

We packed up early.

We Went up to Orleans Vt to check out the Old Stone House area. A great collection of historical houses in a classicly old time Vermont neighborhood.

Early 1800's steam powered stone cutter with an 8 foot flywheel!

Bread oven.

We intended to catch the tour of the grounds but were an hour early. Gives us and excuse the go back.

Across the street is prospect hill. Nice look out tower with a 360 degree view.

No photo's, too hazy. You should check this area out. Lots of great gravel roads in the area.

Next stop, Jay peak.

Tram.

Time for lunch.

The Burger Barn In Jeffersonville is THE place for the best, most creative Burgers in Vt.

Fried green beans!

Smugg's

Ridge road in Brookfield. Almost home.

Enjoy the ride!

My 86 year old parents still live on the left side of Jay Peak. There is absolutely no place better to be in July than northern VT.

What fun. Thanks for sharing!

My pillion and I just got back from 2 weeks in northern VT and we can't wait to go back. The only bad road we hit was Rte 7 south of Burlington -- the rest were just awesome. We did some of the same ones you were on, making me wonder if we didn't pass each other at some point. The Northeast Kingdom is gorgeous! From Jay Peak we headed into Canada over to the Champlain Islands and rode around the whole lake. We also did the Appalachian Gap (Rte. 17), as well as around Camel's Hump and up and over Mt. Mansfield.

VT's dirt roads are amazing!

I wondered who would be the first to bring that up. :)

No, a buddy of mine was up from PA and pitched his tent in the yard. He & I both have some odd ball Fiat related cars.
