I managed to hit all 6 scenic overlooks in Michaux on today's ride. No pictures from Hammond's Rocks since I did not feel like getting off the bike and hiking to the top of the rocks for a picture.

Here they are from North to South. First up is Spruce Run:

Next is a spot along Ridge Road just south of 223. Normally there is no view of the valley until the leaves start to drop.

The next overlook is at Buzzard's Rocks. I met TowPro as I was riding towards this one. I stopped and we spoke for a few minutes.

Here is the road leading away from Buzzards Rock back to Ridge Road. A very pretty ride today, although the leaves are dropping fast at the top of the mountain.

I think Dark Hollow is my favorite of the overlooks. The pictures don't do it justice.

A quick hop down Sandy Sod to 997, into Mt. Alto and we are at Valley View.

And the final overlook at Snowy Mountain. I ran accross a family in an Accord looking for this overlook, so I just had them follow me. I had to ride a little slower than normal.

Here is an interesing spot along Ridge Road, but not an official overlook. It is actually a spot that is recovering from forest fire damage.

If only there were no gates...

Foxtrapper, Lupin the 3rd, and I met in Waynesboro at 10:00. Foxtrappers riding day was over before it started, as he thought it'd be a good idea to throw his ride off the truck instead of using the ramps

(good luck getting new bars before next weekend!) He joined us for the ride north anyway, just to be social at the stops

Only downside was the deer jumping in front of Lupin (maybe there's a video?).

Good to see you too, Jeff- looking forward to routes and tips. Keep up the good work...uh, actually, it sounds more like fun than work. Perhaps you can notate trails where you didn't get arrested

Did 100 miles today in and around the Michaux on the Battle Scooter. Great day for riding, forgot my camera. Huh??

Hah! New handlebars are on. Smashed taillight replaced, and bent footpeg and brake lever straightened.

Added bonus, the replacement stator came, tested ok, swapped it in and it actually charges. Yippee!

So not only am I ready for next Saturday, I'm even more ready than I was yesterday.

Thanks to you guys for the company, I had a great time both riding and chatting!

I did get the fawn on video, but the quality isn't great...

As soon as I have time I'll put some more video up on youtube.

My son passed his MSF test yesterday, so today he had a taste of motorcycling through Michaux into the apple orchards. "Awesome," he said.
