Dear JaxObsessed
You really are lucky to have such country to ride through as a youth. I grew-up in a similar place but on the other side of the earth. Great photos! I think I may ride there for some off-road fun soon. Thanks for sharing.

Riding is the only way to know you are here. To move through the world fast is to live.

Had the pleasure of meeting and riding with a mix of ADV and DAMN members this past weekend at Michaux. Jack, Skyclad, dirtygrunt,
Lawrence and you too pipewrench, lets do it again sometime when you can all stay longer! I'm free Thursday (17th), lets celebrate St. Patrick's Day by riding in the pine green forests, temps are to range from 37 to 60, mostly sunny with only a 10% chance of any precip! It will be light out by 7:00 A.M. and I have no problem getting up early on ride days. Anyone else out there with a need for some multisurface meandering?

I might have to get up that way this weekend if I get my bearings in time. Maybe even bring a tent...

Mystery Solved!

I started this thread on Sat., http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=667729
not realizing this was an on going thread.

Looks like you all had a nice ride, I'm jealous!
I'm working on getting my plated XR out here but would like a place to keep it. If I do at least I could ride in the evenings

A Michaux thread in the NE forum probably would be a good idea. DONE.

Maybe we can leave this thread for pics.

Wrightsville, huh?
I think Skyclad is over that way, your not too far.
You could always stick your XR in the shed next to mine.
I won't ride it

Laoch-Where is your shed?

Skyclad is a few roads over from me, never actually met in person just on here, go figure? I'm hoping (again) to be able to make that Bald Eagle sf ride this year.

I've been doing the Michaux D/s the last couple years, nice event-too bad trails are only open 1 day for bikes-still don't get that ATV's yes, bikes no?

Skyclad-I stand corrected, that brief encounter slipped my mind, been happening more & more lately.......wait, what was I talking about?

Jax- No riding pics of Michaux, I'm stuck at work in Michaux while you guys get to play. I did meet up with afew Adv's right after I got my GSA a couple years ago and we rode Michaux, was a good time, the only name I remember from that ride was DirtyGrunt.

I've been doing the Michaux D/S in Aug. last couple of years, too busy bouncing off rocks for pics!

I got a pic or two of the P/L hill west of RT233, got to see if I remember how to post it

Last year I put full street tires on my DRZ400S, do you guys think a MSF ride can be done with them (ContiGO's). If not I'm going to look for knobs soon, this is why I bought my bike but was only riding it to work. Now I found the NE forums on ADV and it's killing me!

Roads are 90% gravel, some loose, some hard packed, with a few soft and slick spots when it's wet. A few rocks, but no real mud or rocks.

I took several trips on gravel last year sporting Conti Trail Attacks.. Don't let the name fool you, there is nothing trail about them. I prefer more bite on my front for gravel, but I do pretty well just letting some air out.
