Best Time of the Year
Temps climbing, and no hiding foliage to speak of. Not much bug issues, just a few on the shield tonite, and it's going to get better, not worse. Except for the bugs
Check out the wires...

I was in Michaux tonight, I did not ride the bike though. We ran 10.4 miles in the dark with only the moonlight shining on the trail. There was a group of mountain bikers out too but they had lights.
Gotta love Michaux!

Yeah, I'll bet that was a nice moonlight ride. Great way to say good riddance to 'ol man winter.
I wanted to get out earlier yesterday, but was dealing with an upset system in the am, didn't want to risk being far from modern indoor plumbing Felt better by 10am, so I headed for New Castle DE for a brief visit, down to the civil war era Fort Delaware. (rebels POW'd there were probably wondering where all the gators and cottonmouths were...and what's with these ducks?) I did some guesswork, and some zig-zag, and got on the C&D canal dirt at the first legal entrance I could find. Went back east as far as made sense with a laden bike, and explored from there (Delaware City) to Chesapeake City, I think about 40 mi, if one went in a straight shot. Maybe less, I was having too much fun with 60 mph feet-up slides and spectacular visuals to check mileage. There was lots of parallel roads, two track 'unkept' roads, and non-gated or posted roadish looking trails to check out. I saw no LEOs, but I was having so much fun, I was considering turning myself in. I'll go back and ride the other side soon. Here is the first shot, till I figure out how to get the full sequence to post.

Motojunky and myself made it up there on Sunday. Pretty nice area and the fire roads are fun to ride, just wish there was more of an off-road option in the area.

Were you guys parked in the lot at the corner of 30 and 233? Three of us were pulling out onto 30 and the bikes in the photo look like the two we saw being loaded up.

Yeah I had my GPS with me, but we still would have liked an larger view of the layout. That was our first time up there and we just went where we felt and just to see what was at the other end. The only problem I had was that we always found an end and it found way to early...LOL
