Used a simple cheap uv filter but the effects because of hdr.

You know, you might just be right. I was talking to my mechanic on the phone when I took that pic and he kept saying that the bike is in the shop. So without checking the number I took the pictures. After reading a couple of posts about this not being potentially a 1965, I called up my mech and double checked. So, I think what happened is, when he said, the bike is in the shop, he meant, it's parked outside .

A simple case of misunderstanding but I assume my REAL purchase is not going to be in any better condition.

I will post pics of the real bike soon

YES! put that old bike back in action. I really respect and admire folks that take an old bike that normally would go to the scrap heap and give it life again. Good luck and keep at it!

This is the real one. This bike is what I bought....



and as it turns out.... it was a police bike.

The tank came out with fish like scales after rubbing. I am so tempted to just clear coat it and use it as it is...

It's been almost a month since I posted in this thread...there has been no progress since I was out of town. I checked the bike today and got to know that the work is stalled and we need tires. Ran to the best tire shops in the city and found NOTHING dual sport. :S
Everything that had was full off road no highway use tire.

So I got online and starting searching for tires and zeroed in on
TKC 80 120-80-18 for rear and 100-90-19 for front. But as luck would have it, no website I saw is going to ship either outside of US or because tires are OVERSIZE. This one site will ship me the tire for abour 225 USD. GOD !!

So this is a desperate call for help. An SOS. If there is someone you know who can ship me a tire with reasonable shipping costs, do let me know. I will even take a used tire.
