I've finally managed to get in touch with a dealer that has a DCT demo coming in soon. If weather permits - and we have had a remarkably crap "summer' - then i'll be having a go at the start of next month.

Does it come with the new footshift option?

I think that's an optional accessory - although i really can't see the point. The thumb / forefinger shift is logical for us Playstation types..

I think paddle shifters make more sense and should work better than foot shifters, but it will take some getting used to. I would like to give DCT a try..//

Laugh

Funny, when I tested the VFR with DCT I thought the only thing it needed was a foot shifter to make it perfect

I will be very interested to hear your impressions! I'm also interested to hear why some people think DCT is a disadvantage for dirt road riding.

I thought this option might be useful when riding standing up on dirt.

:)

Looks like work will get in the way of the test ride. Oh well - one might pop up one day.

I'm amazed at Honda's total failure to create any buzz around this bike. I read far more about the Super Tenere and Explorer.

It's a pity really. For those that want a top quality Soft Roader this SHOULD be a "must evaluate" bike.

Maybe it's just Honda is Soooo last decade at the moment. People just won't give 'em a go.

Where I live the thing is really good value as well. Not Wee Strom value but way better than the Euro bikes.

Having said that I keep promising myself I'll go and have a test ride but I usually don't like wasting peoples time knowing I have already got a bike I am really happy with.
