Short version: it's the most respected flight school in the US; if you're goal is to become a professional helicopter pilot, you won't find a better place to start.
Welcome, Flap. What puts you in Fairbanks?

My first "real job" after being a CFI (I say that with the greatest respect to those who choose to make a career out of instructing. Hardest job I've ever had) brought me to AK in 2000 and except for a very brief stint in the Gulf of Mexico (lasted three months in that asscrack ) I've been up here ever since.
I do miss flying all around N. Cal in the 300CB. Petaluma was one of my first solo cross countries.
And great roads!. I really loved that ride up to Lake Berryessa (sp?)

I was on that Kirby Lake fire during Maple Flag and no matter how often I asked I couldn't get the avioncis guy to install a "missile Lock" sensor in the Astar. It was cool to see those planes when they came over to have a peak at guys working for a living!!

Doesn't look like I'm on the skiing program at all this winter. Not that I mind, rigs is where the dough is. How far North is a good question, we have work in Alaska again this winter and also in Southern Alberta and B.C. Lets just say that it's going to be a busy winter picking stuff up and putting it down, again and again and again.

I'm not having an identity crisis, the voices in my head keep telling me that I'm fine.

Hey where are you in Wyoming?

Hey all you "rotor heads"!

I may very soon become one of you. My reserve recruiter has me qualified to get back into USMC-R as a crew chief at an HMLA squadron. Hope to be off to school soon!

Great!! You'll love it- the new Super Hueys are really strong!! HMLA 167 at New River was my squadron when I got out. "Skid Row" at its best with Hueys and Cobras!!
