OK......now we are talking!
Next step...............Bigger tank version (at least 6.0 gallons) with black spoke wheels. I'd also like an USD fork too. 2012 G650GS Adventure (the return of the Dakar)

Just looked at the first one locally today. Looked nice and the dash is an improvement as well. The single route/dual exhaust was strange. Tech said they have an extended fuel cell, 21 inch front wheel, and lots of other accessories on the way for it. Price was marked 9060 including freight/setup, abs, heated grips, and 12v accessory port. Seems a bit steep to me but I ride a DR so of course it does.
I liked it more than I am comfortable with. G |

Touratech will be doing a 37 litre tank for it.
"The 39L tank for F650 will not fit on your bike. There will be a larger fuel tank for the new G650 GS with 37 litres. It is not available yet, but we are working on it. I can not tell you, when it will be available. New 2011 GS
I just took delivery of a 2011 BMW G650GS in Illinois. The US price with the premium package (ABS, heated grips, accessory socket) and destination fee is $8,645. It's so new that the secretary of state doesn't have the VIN yet. Can't wait to get out and ride

I picked mine up on Tuesday..only difference to yours is red seat,
Ordered engine bars and bashplate too but no stock here in Aus for another 2 weeks, also ordered high screen but its months away apparently. I'm finding searching for farkles frustrating in that there are 2 f650's (800 and single) and a lot of the original F650 gear will fit this newer model, Touratech Australia dont even list a G650gs .

Frankly it was a smart move. The bike is aimed at beginner riders and the last thing a beginner wants to do is patch a tube. These things are not meant for hard core off road. It weighs well over 400 lbs and has forks that looked wimpy 20 years ago.
On the plus side it has a low seat height for those with shorter legs, is capable of over 70mpg, has ABS, has heated grips, and is capable of getting to triple digits. The G650GS is a bike that will take anyone anywhere within reason economically, and functions as an awesome commuter and a lightweight tourer. The new model is just a freshening of the bodywork with an emissions adjustment and new wheels. Have an 07 and 10 model in the family and all riders are happy.
