Oops,

Sorry to let you down. :( I'm heading out of the shop for a few months May 18- July 18??. All my time has been going into prepping for this trip and tying up loose ends around the shop.

I was down in WV a week ago testing the AWD on true single track and gear being used on this upcoming trip. Let just say, I'm not sure many other 950's will be going through that for a while. The AWD made all the difference in the world. Give Bill a call at the Blue Goose Inn, before you give it a try. I'm sure he'd love to take more LC8s out there. I tested it hard to make sure nothing was going to break before this next long trip. Stuffing the front wheel in deep mud holes, two-wheel drive burn-outs going up rock climbs, lofting over logs. Lots off fun stuff. It all handled it great.

If you care to read a little about that trip you can find it here.

Sorry to leave you guys hanging, but I need to ride too.

I will continue as time allows. Promise

Knock knock!

You back yet?

Tell me Matinghofen got hold of you and signed a non-disclosure contract, handed a wad of dosh over and asked you to help develop and help the production line for the 2012 KTM 990 Adventure˛ that should be released mid 2012?

I believe they are still in AK.

It'll be July before he's back on home turf.

That would be awesome.

We're in Dawson City. Camping out and resting up for our next leg of the trip south.

AWD bike Update:

We made it to Deadhorse, AK. I ran the AWD engaged the entire Dalton up and back. It was a huge help in the slop and the snow over the pass.

Until someone proves otherwise, this is the FIRST AWD 2 wheel Bike to make the trip past the Arctic Circle in AK and as far north in the US you can drive. I'm almost positive this is the FIRST Christini. A week later we did it again in the Yukon. We'll be hanging out for the "D2D" event here and head south Sat.

Keep an eye out in the next "Outrider Journal" for more AWD 950 info.

Currently the bike has about 87,000 miles on it.

I agree, and I'm trying to get caught up on work around here while I was gone doing a long term test of the system. It passed in my mind. Over 20,000 miles now w/ only a few small issues.

I'll do my best to get some more pics up here this week while the CNC is running. Last week I was hoping to find time, but ended up doing an LC8 Engine Swap..... that's another thread....

Hang tight, there is more to come.

BTW,
I just found out about that new section. Show of hands.

Would you like it kept in the "OC" or moved over to "Some assembly Required" ?

How about an AWD SE w/ K60 Scouts? Would that do?

BTW, Here is a link to some of the videos Geek and I did in Moab testing it out in case anyone missed it.

Can't wait for Lake Tahoe, NV KTM Rally this year.
