Riding Clinic Dec 3/4 - Crooked Creek Cycle Park

Iphorde and I are going to be putting on a Dual-Sport and Offroad Riding clinic December 4th/5th at Crooked Creek Cycle Park. VERY IMPORTANTLY; we are guests of CCCP and all park rules and regulations supersede anything I may tell you. All riders must wear a helmet, eyewear, and protective footwear to be involved with this clinic. All riders will attend of their own accord and you are responsible for your own bike and own safety. Please ride accordingly, this is not a race or competitive event, so use your head and we'll all have a good time.

This is one is FREE. We're fine-tuning our curriculum and need some test subjects/monkeys/guinea pigs riders.

After this one we'll be charging, but that's part of the process. I need to know what you're willing to pay for such information and our time. I'll be camping Saturday night and riding both days.

What you'll need:
  • YOUR Bike, knobby tires highly recommended (we are not providing motorcycles, and do not rent out our personal machines, I MIGHT let you ride one of mine if you're really nice and I think you can handle it )
  • Helmet (MOTGATT Required)
  • Gate Fee
  • Camping gear (if you're staying, or would like tips on packing and gear selection)
  • Your "road" Toolkit (tips and tricks for packing "enough" but not "too much")
  • Water and food (not provided by the staff. What, you ride a KLR? Pony up, cheapskate. )
  • Patience (we're kinda wingin' it on this one)
  • A Good attitude. If you can't take a joke or be the first to laugh if you screw up, don't bother coming. We ain't getting paid enough to put up with whiners.

What's provided:
  • Priceless information amassed from thousands of miles of hardcore hero-style riding and millions of laps at the most challenging circuits the world has to offer.
  • Jokes, lots of em.
  • good times

The following people are on the IN list, and have already been in contact with me: I'd like to limit this to about 20 people, but if you just want to come to the park and ride while we're there, and hang out around the campfire with us, please feel free.

Current count is: 10, please post up the day you can attend. This is basically two one-day courses back to back.

When/Where:

Located a few miles NE of Waco.
I'll be there about 9am Saturday and Class will start at ~10am.

Directions here.

I've spoken with the owners and they have given us permission and have the heads up that we are coming. Unfortunately they knocked down their site this morning by accident. It will be back up soon

Well, Cody, I'm gonna have to wait and pay for this at a later date as I will be on a HOG overnight trip that weekend.

Definitely just the kinda thing I'm needing to do, however, so thanks for putting this together. Look forward to learning from you.

Husaberg Unleasing at the Thanksgiving Mini Dirt Camp

Cody , Do you mean Dec 4th and 5th? I will get there somehow! I do have problems, mine not yours. #1, I dont have a way to haul the Berg. #2, I dont have camping gear, but I want to hang. Depending on whos there I may boondock on Sun, or help you sheepherd. #3, Can we go into town to eat and get gas? #4 I dont have tools or repair stuff so Ill either bum or go home with my tail (you know where)! Anyhow, Im looking forward to getting dirty after 30 years afoot.

Plenty of hotel options in a short distance, and I've got an extra tent or two if need be.

Date edited.

Dinner and gas in town? Sure why the hell not.

Where ya coming from? All attendees are currently from the RTB rally and I bet you could hook up with somebody to carpool with.

If I'm not a poser for wearing the shirt when I couldn't make it to the rally, then sure.

I'd prefer to do Saturday so my tired arse can camp there and head home Sunday.

Lookin' forward to it!
